"Surprisingly quiet"
A pretty quiet street, there is very little noise from busy Heidelberg Rd. There isn't much activity in the street, rarely do you see neighbours interacting with each other.
Alphington St runs down to the Yarra, with a park which once contained the Rudder Grange boathouse. All that remains of this boathouse are some concrete slabs, and some rocks that once surrounded a fountain. Until a few years ago the outline of an old swimming pool was still visible, and a little pier was safe enough to sit on. Both of these are now gone.
BP is just around the corner and always seems to have cheaper petrol than anywhere else.
A good cafe is located on Heidelberg Rd.
About a 10 minute walk to Fairfield Station and the Station St shops.

We used to live on Fulham Rd (North of the railway line) and believe it or not your street was my wife's favourite! What are the housing prices there like now? We had to move out of the suburb so we could expand our family.
