Foreigners need some living & schooling advise

Hi, we are a Dutch family of 4 (mom, dad, daughter15, son 11 and a dog ) and dad is going to be stationed on Amberley AB for 2,5 yrs. from Jan. 2018 on, so we move to beautiful Australia/Queensland for that period as a famlily.
We would like to have some advise on what are nice areas to live (max app. 25 km of Amberley) and what (public) high schools are good.
