It has always appeared to be nothing but quiet and safe. After having done a search for specific numbers, I've discovered I was right.
Amenia crime statistics are generally way, way below New York State averages in almost every category. Apparently, only the risk of larceny is a little above the state average, but still below the national average. Violent crimes are basically unheard of in Amenia.
So yes, I would say overall it is very safe.
