Reviews of Aranda, ACT
"Aranda suburb in the bush"
Surrounded by stunning bushland and birdlife, Aranda is a paradise for outdoors enthusiasts. Possums are common in backyards, and while cute, have destructive tendencies. Very central, only a short distance to the city and Belconnen, with easy access to supermarkets at nearby Jamison. The local shops have created a new social scene with a hipster pub and cafe. As with many suburbs in Canberra, house prices have blown out to ridiculous amounts. As such, there is a lack of socio economic diversity in the suburb, to the point where the local public school is informally known as Aranda Grammar. I have experienced two home burglaries, and hooning has noticeably increased in the area over the last 12 months. The neighbours are very community minded though, so I secretly hope they will start a vigilante group.
"Country Feel City Life"
Aranda was planned with its native setting in mind. Located at the foot of Black Mountain it is a very bushy and scenic area. It is the perfect area to raise a family. It has all the benefits of country living whilst having all of the entertainment, service and shopping options afforded by living close to a large city.
