My partner and I want to move and settle here from Sydney. How good is this suburb?

There are four stripes from the river to the hills and each of them have its own identity and price tag but the whole suburb is manly residential. People living here are mostly young and mid age professionals, young families and the original owners. It's a very quiet and prestigious area with million dollar houses, beautiful Queenslander houses, in the first strip from the river until the train station most of the apartments are located. In this area you have prestigious complex and low density blocks of units. Auchenflower is located within 3KM from the CBD so it's very handy for people working there, close to the Brisbane River, hospital, shopping centre, cafes and restaurants, entitles occupants to the best school catchments in Brisbane and still more affordable than the CBD or trendy areas like New Farm, Ascot or Teneriffe. Hi Brenda, My name is Lesley and I have lived in this suburb for 31 years!! When I bought in 1986, I just loved the area so close to the city, and with so many natural beautiful trees. It only got better! A peaceful & safe neighbourhood , lovely neighbours and community, very handy to great schools, shopping, cafes, transport, the river and very close to the CBD. The area is very tightly held as it is so desirable. There are many professionals who live here, as well as 'original' residents. The homes tend to be of the 'classic Queenslander' style, mostly tastefully renovated - at least around where my home is in Markwell St. There is another area of Auchenflower which is mostly units, if that is what you are looking for. The other thing that I absolutely love is the nature, the birdlife, the gorgeous scattered jacaranda trees and the hills which generate wonderful views for those homes in the high up locations. Your investment in Auchenflower will always be a good one- it's high in demand and your capital growth will also be right up there. I didn't plan on staying 31 years! My home is now up for sale ( 57 Markwell St) and I now live at Noosa!
