aftee local info on Avondale Heights for young family

Hi, just wondering if anyone has advice on Wood St Avondale Height and the suburb in general. In particular, schools, parks, crime rate and public transport info?
Thank you

Hi Michelle, Wood St and the surrounding area is very much a family oriented area. Avondale Primary is on Wood St but there are further primary schools (catholic) - St Martins and St Peters - both feeder schools to the main private colleges in the area. Transport is totally reliant on local bus service, which has improved qite a bit over the years. Bus lines will take you to either Highpoint/Moonee ponds or via Buckley street to Essendon Station. Crime rate; can't comment on that as I'm not sure, but the officers at the Avondale Police station might be able to give you the right information there. Hope you find this helpful
