The farther you get away from Ocean Avenue the safer you are generally. No that Ocean Avenue is like the mean streets or anything like that. You won't find Jets and Sharks tusseling down there or anything like that. But since Ocean is the busiest part of Balboa Terrace it is also where more crimes tend to occur. You still shouldn't worry too much about it here however. Balboa Terrace is one of the safer neigbhorhoods in SF.
