Is the old or 'newer' part of Ballajura the best area?

Coin toss; I've lived in both in my 21 years in Ballajura. The older part was quieter but when the crime picked up the petty theft and vandalism along with the hoons became too annoying to I switched to the newer part; neighbors are just as nice and friendly, but there is a hoon problem over here too. Winning spot for me would be a compromise of old and new on the Illawarra Crescent strip.

Having lived in North Ballajura for 30 years I must say the old part, North Ballajura its like a small suburb in it own right as its bordered by Hepburn Drive, Marrangeroo Drive and Alexander Drive its a small triangle divided from the rest of Ballajura.
