A lot of people catch the 825 bus to Cheltenham train station or the 925 bus to Sandringham train station allowing for easy access into the CBD. Both busses run through Balcombe Road.

There is bike storage at both stations which you can pay for and have a key for. You need to check new arrangments with the new stations. The train stations for Mentone and Cheltenham are very close and have drop off points. Alternatively there is a bike track all the way to the city which you can go all the way to the docklands on.
