Cheap places for a UK newly graduate to rent? Either here or nearby!

Hello. I am a 20 year old from the UK looking to work in this area for a year. I was wondering as to whether there is anywhere local that is relatively cheap for someone my age? It's mainly as I have a few contacts who live local - but I am unable to live with them. Ideally for 221 aud or less. It sounds crazy as I'm aware the area is very nice, it's just as my parents want me to be in a safe place, and I can't seem to find any housing for grads who are only living for a year or so.
