Beeston Street, New Farm, QLD 4005

Running off Macquarie St in Teneriffe, Beeston St is a haven one block back from the river off the busier main road. The street begins between two warehouse apartment blocks, but widens into a sedate, modern suburban street. There are small boutique apartment complexes on either side before the road rises up Teneriffe hill with water glimpses. The apartments disappear and the traditional queenslanders rule perched high to catch the evening breeze. Round the corner, it's suburban bliss with small blocks and renovated colonial houses on either side.

There is minimal traffic, which belies its proximity to the local bar and restaurant scene and it's short walk from the nightlife hub of Brisbane that is Fortitude Valley and Chinatown - truly an inner city oasis!

For foodies, Chinatown is close by as is New Farm, which has undergone a renaissance in the last 10 years and is filled with great restaurants and cafes catering to all tastes. New Farm Deli has been a weekend favourite breakfast haunt for Sunday brunch. James St is but a stone's throw away with many restaurants and bars to whet the appetite. Not to mention Palace Cinemas which show some of the latest and alternative films.

For the health nuts, there are many gyms within the surrounding area and the river is a block away with its jogging tracks down to New Farm Park (and then the city if you are particularly fit).

Property prices and rental returns have skyrocketed here as word has spread about this little inner city pocket. It is a favourite for young professionals who work in the city or nearby hospital.
