"Ok"

Not a bad place but not a vibrant suburb. Bayside in Brisbane isn’t a beautiful area, and whilst you can get to Brisbane cbd in under 30 mins, it feels very seperate. I had some really bogan neighbours when I lived here

We were just out there. Its certainly not like Wellington Point or Thirneside. It is great land value and reminds me a bit of the lesser side of Forest Lake and or Alexandra Hillls. Its okay, but the cars, massive (commercial) trucks and equipment on a lot of lawns reduces curb side appeal. However, the prices will be sub $900k for large lots and/or with pools.

"Accessible bayside suburb"

Birkdale is the second most northern suburb in the Redland City Council precinct. The suburb offers a wide range of property styles from small acreages, canal estate homes to properties which would suit first home buyers. Good schools and is within close range to the nearby Capalaba Shopping Centres. This location allows relatively easy access to the wider Brisbane City Council region.

"Birkdale has a huge potential!"

Close to everything
- Train station, - Parks, - Reputable schools, - Shopping centres, - Water
What else do we need?

And the mega birkdale community precinct is coming (including whitewater centre for the 2032 Brisbane olympic)

Let's see how Birkdale will perform!
I can gurantee that this suburb will surely be one of million dollor suburbs soon enough!

"A great area for younger couples working in the CBD who want a bit more space"

We have lived here for a couple of months now after escaping the inner city. To say we are a lot more relaxed and laid back out here is an understatement. It's amazing to be able to go grocery shopping and not have to fight for a car park or push our way through crowds. The parks at either end of the esplanade are amazing spots for a BBQ. The express train is 45 minutes to the city. There is a great craft beer bar near the main shops with this amazing British fish and chips place next to it, makes a good stop off after getting off the train after work on a Friday. Also just down the road from here is the main strip on Wellington Point.

Full disclosure, we (young couple with no kids yet) just bought a house out here, so feel free to take my praise with a grain of salt. But there are many things to love about the area. Houses are on good sized blocks, this was a big factor for us. We were initially looking a bit closer in (Wakerley and Tingalpa) but all the newer developments seemed to be shoeboxes on 400sqm blocks which I just don't think makes for nice neighbourhoods. We drove out a bit further to Birkdale to check it out and realised pretty quickly that it was a better area - and much better for commuting to the city (bc of the train line) despite the extra distance out.

The council also seems to support this idea of more green space, having fought for the right to buy 62ha of federal land off Birkdale Road, which was on the brink of being sold off to property developers, on which they will be building the Birkdale Community Precinct.

Being bayside, it's also significantly cooler than the inner city and western suburbs during summer, as we get a sea breeze forming most days. Just something more to consider as temperatures continue to creep up over the next 10 years.

A Great booming suburb - Birkdale is positioned on one of Brisbane's major connectors, a short drive to the Bay, Capalaba and Carindale Mega shopping precincts, and within a quick zip of Brisbane City.

"Pretty suburb"

I live in the neighbouring suburb, Alex Hills but have been really impressed by Birkdale as well. There are some lovely houses in Birkdale and everyone seems to be very house proud. There are a few great dog parks and bush walks near Valentine Rd. Not to mention, it is close to Cleveland and Wello which have some great eating options and Capalaba shops.

"Green leafy suburb"

Looks like a nice area, we drove around Birkdale looking at rental houses, hoping to find something here or nearby Wellington Point, or Thorneside. Lovely canal and waterways and a dog friendly off leash area on the Esplanade.

"Average suburb"

Average suburb tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane CBD. Quite pricey homes in the area yet every so often affordable houses pop up. Limited demographic more suitable for families and retirees.

"A lovely suburb on the shores of Moreton Bay"

A lovely, friendly, family orientated suburb close to the waterfront. We enjoy daily strolls along the waterfront and around Aquatic Paradise. Many great parks close by. Beautiful Wellington Point reserve just down the road and the shops at Capalaba just 5 mins away in the car. Great restaurants and cafes at Wellington Point and Cleveland.

We've really noticed how friendly it is around here since moving the area 6 months ago. Far enough from the city to feel like its own separate town, but close enough to commute everyday. And also on the train line.

Nice local shopping centre at Birkdale Fair with a Woolies, cafes, chemist, medical centre etc. And great schools and plenty of daycare centres - the perfect suburb for families.

"Quiet leafy area, close to transport and shops"

Just out of the mainstream, close to the bayside, major shopping areas. A short drive to Cleveland and Wellington Point for a coffee or a meal by the water. Easy access to the city, or to the Gateway - leading to Sunshine and Gold Coasts.
