Reviews of Birrong, NSW

"God’s own country"

I’ve lived on the North Shore, in the eastern suburbs, in three different states and overseas in both Japan and the United States. Where else can you go and have access to a 50 meter Olympic pool heated all year-round, a golf course, tennis court, dog park, vast green space, and where the main Boulevard is lined with ghost gum trees?

Okay, we don’t have a beach but we have everything else and there’s a sports club with a very fine Italian restaurant as well as a number of schools both public and private dotting the area. I live less than 500 m from a railway station and bus route and less than a five minute walk from the shopping centre.

It’s like paradise. Okay, I exaggerate but where can you get this sort of location and these venues and benefits for the price? Did I mention because you’re in a valley your avoid all the wild storms?

My house has offstreet parking/driveway, it’s surrounded by trees, my backyard looks like we’re situated on the North Shore because it’s far as you can see there are beautiful trees ghost gums and maples.

And, it’s cheap. you try to buy this kind of property with these benefits anywhere in Sydney! It costs a fortune but you can buy in Birrong for under $1 million. Birrong! Loving life!

"On the Investment 'Up'"

Birrong is a suburb in the middle ring of Sydney.
Pleasant suburb and like other commentators have observed; a country town 'vibe' to it.
There are some less than pleasant folks moving into the suburb which will begin to tarnish the suburb.
It's well placed for transport proximity to the city and to Parramatta, so it's likely one of the suburbs to watch in 2010...

"A town that you could pick up and place in a country town setting and you wouldn't know the difference, everyone is extremely friendly and people just don't leave there until they die. Very hard to buy in this area let alone rent."

It has the best Bowling club in the state, good to have a laugh with the locals that have been dedicated to their little town since the early 40s. Birrong held the Masters games in late 2009 for the Bowls competition. Olympic size heated outdoor swimming pool, fantastic parks and sporting fields for soccer, rugby, netball. It also sells the most famous meat pies at it's local cake shop at a very reasonable price, you can also buy these at the local Bowling club. A place where everyone knows everyone.
Great town!
