Reviews of Blackbutt, QLD
"Most Racist Town"
We unfortunately have to drive through this town every time we want to go visit family. At first, the local racist graffiti found in the restrooms was alarming. However, the death stares from locals and the treatment from local businesses, such as the local bakery, have made this town a place we never want to stop at again. The difference between the white people being served in front of us, then the service we got, was vastly different and rude. No matter how polite we are, our treatment is always the same. We feel unsafe here. We have told many people about our encounters in this town and to our surprise, everyone who has lived in this town or knows of this town is well aware how racist the people who live here are. Just look around, you will never see a person of colour here and now we know why! We make sure we drive through this town with our car windows up and doors locked!
"Love Blackbutt"
I frequent blackbutt for work and also as it is on our pathway to the coast. It is a great place to stop when you are on the road. The people are friendly and the pub and bakery are good places to grab a feed and a drink.

"Not very friendly at all"
I dislike Blackbutt. Was nice when we first came here, but have soon learned the real side of the people here.
"Friendly and picturesque."
We purchased 5 acres and are building. We chose this area over many because of the location to Brisbane and airports and it is just removed enough from the city to feel remote. It also has excellent internet in spots. Also, how friendly people were. A lovely sense of community. Very polite and helpful trades people and so far we have been very impressed with how helpful the council has been. I think it is a perfect location for healthy grey nomads and people that work from home. Not close enough to university's or hospitals if you need them regularly. I don't know enough about the schools or kindergartens but they appear have community spirit. Nice mountain bike and horse riding trails. Good community activities to get involved in. No large shopping malls if you live to shop you will be dissatisfied. Nice cafe great pizza very friendly staff. A winning pie shop that people love. I don't eat pies :) but it is always full when I go by. The properties are still very affordable.

Well all I can say is that you mustve rubbed someone up the wrong way , done something wrong or annoyed someone in a bad day because I have rellies there so I visit there all the time, and Ive met all the business owners and people that work in them and own the pub as well as the motel etc.and have got to know them all very well and theyve always been welcoming and friendly and happy and kind . So it mustve been you .., because its not them thats for sure. Its the friendliest town ever as is the atmosphere .
