Corner of Warren St and Hoyt St, in front of Gowanus Houses...Is it safe?

I'm considering moving into an apartment there and the building is right across the street from Gowanus Houses. Some people say it's no place for a girl, some others say it's totally fine. What are your thoughts?

I say if you have other options, take them. Housing projects in Brooklyn are always trouble. They might be fine during the day, but after dark I wouldn't be walking around there. There are so many better places to live in Brooklyn, why worry?
