What is the suburb of Boolaroo like? Would you recommend buying there for a family home?

Hi there, I am looking at purchasing a property in Boolaroo, NSW (in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie region of NSW). We have previously been looking at Charlestown, Kotara and Cardiff areas. Has anybody got any information about the suburb? Any information or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
