Bowes Avenue, Airport West, VIC 3042

We moved here 6 months ago and were surprised at how quiet this road is in Airport West! At the top end (towards Westfield) the rd gets busy at peak hours but that is understandable. Every other time it is perfectly silent. Some of the houses here are very new and some older but 99% of them look picturesque and have amazing front gardens- people put a lot of effort into their houses here. This is a very good neighborhood - a lot of older Mediterranean retirees about which is nice and a lot of the streets are lined with Olive trees which qre picked by locals when in season. A few people out walking dogs and jogging, and a very central shopping precinct with new Spa Nirvana, Doctor, IGA, Childcare etc is within 10 minutes walk from Bowes. We are happy we moved here and have always felt very safe in this area. We are right under 2 flight paths for Tullamarine and Essendon but mostly the noise just takes getting used to - we hardly notice it and have never woken up because of it (and I am a very light sleeper!)
I recommend it for young families and anyone else. Transport is good as Matthews ave is one block up, where the 59 Tram runs to the city and to Westfield. All in all a great street and place to live.
