Best area to buy between Brisbane and Sunshine Coast?!

My partner and I are looking at relocating and purchasing our first home somewhere between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. We are currently living in Sydney but are looking for something close to the beach and not so busy so that is really important to us but we would like to be close enough to Brisbane in case we need to commute for work. A big back yard is also really important as we have 2 crazy puppies that need lots of room so preferably somewhere that still has big block sizes rather than newer estates. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
