Brisbane suburbs with village feel ?

So. Just moved to Brisbane and looking for a suburb with a nice village feel. Used to live in Mosman, Sydney so something kind of similar would be nice. So far Bulimba is the closest i've found but i haven't seen much yet ( stuck at home with 2 toddlers), so thought i would throw it out there. Fairly close to the city ideally, train or ferry is a must. Any advice would be much appreciated.
