Brisbane Region is located in the state of Queensland.
For surfing, I would reconmend Superbank at Snapper Rock, Duranbah surf NSW - sitting right on the border of Queensland and New South Wales and The Split at Goldcoast.
For water skiing try Kurwongbah or Somerset Dam
