Looking for a cheap place to live for a young family

Hey guys...well, I already live in brisbane, but I'm new in town. I currently work in the city, and live in woolloongabba, which is fine. Problem is, my wife and daughter will be joining me soon, so I need a bigger place to rent. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a cheap suburb where i could rent a 2 bed for less than $300 a week, but still had solid transport links to the city? no place is too far, really, although, it would be nice if i didnt have to spend more than an hour on the commute...thanks in advance for the help...
