Moving to Semi-Rural Brisbane

I've been living in Sydney for 20+ years and looking to move to QLD and buy a semi-rural or property in small town QLD, within 1-2 hrs drive from Brisbane city. I don't know much about QLD areas outside Brisbane city.
Can anyone help me to figure out a good area in QLD? Preferably areas with low flood and bush fire risks.
Thank you

Check out Esk area. Sits just over Mt Glorious behind Brisbane. Nice rural environment with some lovely recreational dams nearby. Lake Wivanhoe is great, Hays landing recreational area is very pretty. A little bit further but still within your time frames to Brisbane is the Scenic Rim Local Government Area. One of the best and still undiscovered rural areas close to Brisbane. Lots of little historic hamlets. If you buy new property you will get the $25,000 home builder boost grant. As for flood you can search local government maps. Fire, just makes sure you don't have a lot of bush close to the house. If you need any more help check out my website: www.donhannay.com.au
