Recently moved to QLD from VIC, Need to find the right Brisbane suburb please help!

Hi, I'm a single mum of three young children. I've moved from Bulleen, Melbourne to Caloundra and am extremely bored... We are used to cafes, family friendly pubs, city life... Love the water, we go for a walk most nights along the beach, I realize Brisbane doesn't have beaches but we are loving the much used river.. I'm also wanting to go back to work so needing great public transport. Also need to still have great access to the sunshine coast to visit my family! So, could you please recommend a suburb that would fit what we are looking for.

If you want to walk to the CBD, New Farm but expensive, if you want to be a little further out, then Wooloowin or Clayfield near the train station, lovely feel but also not that cheap. If you don't mind the travel then head for the beachside suburbs, Redcliffe, reasonably priced houses and apartments especially, Sandgate and surrounds or Manly, on the southside but it is not that cheap. My choice - Redcliffe
