Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast living?

We're relocating to SE QLD and looking for large blocks/acreage within 40 minutes to one hour of Brisbane CBD. Our ideal house would be 5 bed/2 bath, in an established, treed suburb (not a new development) on 2000-4000m2, 20 minutes' max from great shopping, not coastal but within 20 minutes to beaches, and 5 minutes to great schools, all for less than $1 mil. We've been looking at Gold coast hinterlands but are now expanding our search to Brisbane and the Sunshine coast. We know next to nothing about any of these areas and would love some recommendations for suburbs to put on our look list. TIA
