Anywhere near the water will be pricey. My daughter is looking for near the water and you are looking at $350 upwards. We saw a nice cottage overlooking the water at Sandgate and it was $710 p/w rent.

Brisbane is a very big place and there are all kinds of suburbs which, depending on your budget, you could move into. Maybe work out whether you want to be near the water, inland or near the CBD, and what you need to study.
