What's the best way to relocate Sydney to Brisbane?

Hi Thee

We are about to start our first ever interstate move
We want to leave the overpriced and overworked conditions of Sydney to hopefully have a better work life balance in Brisbane

We have a 2 bedroom house and a lot of things in a storage cage from owning a business here

We will try to sell as much as possible as we are not attached and happy to start again.

However we are worried about how to do this? Do I fly up first and see Properties 2 weeks before, sign and lease then give notice in Sydney on our rental?

I work in corporate and will be temping when I arrive (I may be able to transfer w my current company however not enjoying this role so might not last till I leave)

Or do I just move up, get work and lease a place and get my partner to come once we have something?

We also have a small Cat - not sure what the feelings are with pets do we just not declare her? This worked for us fine here for last 6 years

Any advice would be much appreciated

You have answered your own questions. Go up sell everything live frugal and don't be judgemental.
Don't stress as you lose your clear heard when moving interstate. I have moved to Melbourne and moved back 18 months later. It's hard doing it the first time around but you have to remember that beggars can't be choosers. Save money whenever you can and have fun with the change because once you realized that everything is complete to happy happy ever after, You can move on the next stage of your life.

Hello,

Best option is firstly for you and your partner to get up to Brisbane, perhaps for a long weekend and start checking out suburbs and maybe even book a few properties to visit.

Obviously you shouldn't give notice on your current place until you have a new place sorted. But you should be able to find a place fairly swiftly.
