"Sadly, a rat run for people living in suburbs further out"
The street has good links to the city by car and public transport and is close to the Verson Street strip. But the car traffic is growing by the year and the street is a rat run for people avoiding the West Gate, or other feeder roads into it. Precinct 15 will feed directly into Brunel Street which will make the street a slowly moving car park - even worse when the boom gates come down due to the freight train. Local and State governments must do more to provide alternative road and transport links.
There's close access to the Vernon Street shops/cafes and bus stops on the street to take you to the nearest train stations, otherwise its a 20-25 minute walk to Spotswood train station. Edwards Reserve is great recreational space with BBQ facilities public toilets and playground. The local Community Centre and pre-school are located on the street.

Looking for a home in Brunel Street?
"A convenient location"
Aside from a little bit of traffic with people cutting through from Blackshaws Rd to Melbourne Rd, and the occasional train, it's very quiet. The Vernon street shops/cafes are great and the street is conveniently close to freeways and beaches. Altona Gate shopping centre is a five minute drive away and it's nice to have a large park in the street to let the kids run around. The neighbours are friendly and we haven't had any issues living here four 4 years.
