"Time moves a little slower here"

Despite some affluent pockets, mostly working-class and retirement villages are in Bundaberg North. The new shopping centre has made life easier. My experience of growing up here was that the people were very friendly and down-to-earth. People look out for each other here.

People's comments about the run down, old fashioned houses apply a little to the people here too ... but that's not a bad thing. It's a little like the suburb time forgot and remember it with fondness.

"Bundaberg's secret oasis, great quiet suburb, many small acerage properties to suit everyones needs."

Gooburrum is approximately 7klms form Bundaberg CBD. Many homes have town water and some also have sewerage. Land varies from small housing blocks to acerage. Tantitha Estate and Bella Vista Estates are small acerage of 1 acre +/- blocks with town water, power and some properties have bore water also. It is a fantastic rural setting only a few Klms away from the city centre. It's not uncommon to see bush turkeys, lizzards, goannas, many birdlife, kangaroos, possums etc.
Very child friendly with some council parks and quiet streets, and school bus services.

Great for

  • Quiet, bush setting, town water, only 7 klms from town (Bundaberg)

Not great for

  • No public transport other than school bus. Can get a few mozzies sometimes from the Tanthitha lagoon.

"Rural Round Up"

The benefits of owning agricultural land in the Bundaberg North area is that predominantly you can be close to the Bundaberg CBD. There are good sized farms from 40ha to 120ha, most with good water allocations, suitable for small crops, tree crops or sugar and ready access to schools.
This area is still very affordable.

Rentals in Bundaberg North

"Scary"

Bundaberg North is the scary part of the city - I lock my car doors as soon as I cross the bridge. Just kidding, it's not allllll that scary - just the streets seem to be less maintained and the houses all older style. Good point is it borders onto farming/cane growing areas and only a short trip to the beach
