Is it necessary to pay for parking for events at the Crown Casino complex in Burswood?

If you get there early enough it should not be necessary. There is currently a lot of work being done to build new carparks (including reclaiming the golf course) but this means one of the existing ones has been dug up. In place they have opened up the paying carpark opposite the river - but it costs $15 for a day parking, not just a few hours for the event you are attending. And, it does not say it is only all day rates until you get in..... very frustrating.
