Is Camberwell an unpleasant suburb to live for non-Anglos?

We are looking for a good suburb to bring up our young children and Camberwell seems like a great place but have heard of racism in the area. Your views would be appreciated.

i am a non anglo, and i've been living in the area for about a year now.
I've had nothing but nice smiles and hellos.

Sure there can be some reticence for some people, mostly testosterone fueled kids with energy to burn.

But i like it very much and i hope to get a better paying job and purchase a house in the near future. Its what families need.

I grew up in Camberwell and always found it to be an accepting place. People treat each other with the respect that they wish to be shown to themselves. If those of other cultures act in the same way towards the anglos they meet I am sure they will develop many friendships.
