"Perfect Place to Raise the Family"

A quiet suburb situated on the outer edges of the East of Adelaide, about 10 kms from the CBD. Growing up here I felt a sense of community and safety. Neighbours became family and morning walks to school was an activity that the neighbour's kids would join in on too.

Leafy area, with middle to high income earners, but due to being an older suburb of Adelaide, houses are yellow bricked. With that being said and with the increase in younger families, the suburb is getting a face lift with the addition of new homes/ developments being built all the time. The suburb is known as "little Italy", a mix of the young and the old. Really is a beautiful suburb - waking up in the morning there is fresh air and the beautiful view of the Adelaide hills.

Traffic can at times become congested, especially in the mornings, due to the close proximity to the city but rectified by the easy access of public transport.

"Too many upleasant experiences to be coincidental."

Although the suburb has some pros - decent selection of shops and restaurants in neighboring suburbs like Newton and a few parks - it does get a fair selection of unsavoury characters. I've lived here for nearly two years and have been egged, had countless expletives yelled at me from passing cars when out for an evening walk, had friends' cars keyed when they've parked outside my house, and have had a number of items stolen from my front doorstep. Not a suburb I'd recommend to most.

"Affordable Eastern Living"

Campbelltown is a nice little area which has everything you need close by: shops, schools, transport, doctors, cafes and so far it has proven to be a quiet and safe area. Locals are friendly enough (ie: will give a smile when you pass each other on an evening walk) but otherwise keep to themselves. The best thing about the suburb is the easy access to the city, the excellent choice of amenities near by and the affordability (in comparison to nearby areas, eg: Norwood, St Peters etc).

"A great place to live for the family."

Campbelltown is a great place to live. There are a lot of parks to entertain the kids. Linear Park is a great place to spend time excersising with the family, while looking at natures wonders. The food shopping is outstanding. Shops galore and excellent service. There are schools both private and public within close proximity of the area. All of which have excellent reputations.

"Great place to live, close to city"

Campbelltown is a great place to raise children. There are many playgrounds and parks along the linea park. Also fantastic to go for a bike ride to TTP or to the city!! It got a Par 3 golf course ( http://www.geoffheathgolf.com.au/ ) which is placed in a lovely area! There are supermarkets close by and McDonalds for those who like junkfood. Great for youth, with free movies in the park and other facilities organised by the Campbelltown City council. This link show some good places and spaces :)

The negative aspect of Campbelltown is that a few areas are not as attractive and that most of the houses all look the same (cream brick houses). We can see some new houses being build, which is good :) But, the beautiful areas add up for the negative ones. Especially the areas along the linea park. The lochiel Park new development is also an exciting project that is coming along really well. The green village with designer two-storey houses, dams, parklands, a little playground, excersise track and a community garden, looks fantastic and will even look better when people start moving in :)

We are very happy here in Campbelltown, and recommend it as it is a good place to live, affordable and close to city and even closer to Norwood, The Parade and Magill Rd

"Nothing Special."

Being so close to the paradise interchange would be this area's biggest selling point, and even that is a double edged sword. Neighbouring paradise add's an extra sense of danger as paradise fast becomes the new 'elizabeth'. It is not all bad as there are some local supermarkets, usually consisting of an IGA, however you have to pay for that convenience as there prices are mostly 10-20% higher then your coles or woolworths.

Containing the Lower North East road does give you an easy route into the city, and the nearby gym would be good for health junkies. overall the area is not worth remembering and if you could afford to live else where you would be better off however in saying that, you could do a lot worse *cough*Arndale*cough*

"A great area to raise a family close to the city"

Campbelltown is a rather uninspiring area in a good location. Close to Linear Park with a good coverage of parks and playground and schools it should be a great spot. However, driving through there are a lot of unattractive cream brick houses on poorly maintained blocks.

I like Campbelltown in theory. Its close to the city and well serviced by public transport. There are a lot of good shops around and it’s not far from a number of good places to eat. It is well established with a lot of trees and the proximity to Linear Park, and a very nice part of Linear Park at that, makes for a good spot. However, it’s not for me as it’s not what I’m looking for.

It would be a great area to raise a family.
