Reviews of Carbrook, QLD

"Peace and quiet away from todays busy lifestyles"

Mainly rural property's, still close enough to shops and entertainment - state and private schools close by. Overall if you want a bit of space and still be close to shops, schools ect, Carbrook is the perfect place, we have lived here for 11yrs and love it. Also close to boat ramps. Logan River and cable ski park !

Looking for a home in Carbrook?

"Country living, but very close to major shopping centres/facilities and highway to Brisbane/Gold Coast"

We moved to Carbrook in October 1998 (over 12yrs ago) to escape the hectic life and busy traffic in Brisbane suburbia and also to escape the general bad behaviour of the youth in our neighbourhood.
Carbrook is a peaceful suburb on the boundary of Redland Bay & Logan councils. Our 5 acre property has heaps of gum trees & other native trees, as well as plenty of room for our palm trees, shrubs & gardens.
The property attracks literally dozens of bird varieties; we have various reptiles near the dam; and up to 6 wallabies at a time, that feed on the grass within metres of our house. Unfortunately, with the ducks, hares & wallabies being around, vegie gardens need to be covered with netting for protection.
Due to the lack of city lights, the night-sky is packed with stars - beautiful to view from the pool on a summer's night.
With the Logan Hyperdome Shopping Centre only 10mins away and the Victoria Point shops approx 12mins away, every shop, medical facility, etc is close-at-hand so we don't need to travel to Brisbane unless we really want to. Both Redland Bay & Logan hospitals are approx 25mins away, which gives peace-of-mind if we need them.
'As the crow flies', the Logan River is approx 1km away from us - we often walk down the road to the river for exercise and a walk in the country air... approx 5km round trip. Boat ramps to Logan River and Redland Bay are approx 10min drive away.
We are on tank water and so enjoy fresh/clean water without the added chemicals; and no water charges from the Government!!
So, all in all, Carbrook is a relaxing, peaceful place to live where we have a country atmosphere and city very close by... the best of both worlds!!
