"Mix of suburbia and rural residential"

We love living in the rural residential part. Beautiful acreage, beautiful homes surrounded by nature. We wake up to cockatoos, kookaburras and galahs every morning. Wonderful community feel. A nature and animal lover's paradise.

"Beautiful lifestyle suburb"

We have lived here for 5 years and haven't visited anywhere to match it. Great private schools just a few minutes drive. I can leave the City at 5.30pm and be home in 40mins... 25 mins with no traffic. Loads of wildlife, beautiful birds. Great walk, biking, canoeing on your door step.

Great for

  • 2 great private schools just a few minutes drive, school buses to many schools
  • Fantastic walking
  • Experience nature at your back door
  • Quiet and friendly

Not great for

  • Internet very hard to get... ADSL 1 at very best
  • If you are into the nightlife this is a bit tame

"A great suburb with friendly approachable people"

Everything is at your backdoor here in Cashmere. Transport for schools of your choice in and around other suburbs. Shops 5 mins drive, Westfield 10 mins drive and Brisbane only 25 mins. Just great for the kids to experience nature with the bush only 5 mins walk away. Great to swim or raft down the local rivers. The dam is just up the road to fish or have a bbq or kick a ball, fly a kite. The drive home is like travelling through the country and a great way to chill after a stressful day at the office.

Great for

  • Great for shopping
  • Experience nature at your back door
  • Quiet and friendly

Not great for

  • If you are into the nightlife this is a bit tame
  • Local schools are not the best

"Cashmere - Greenwoods side"

Two sides to Cashmere, the part around Greenwoods and the more Warner side. I only really have experience around the greenwoods side. It is certainly quiet and peaceful if you live in a cul de sac. Very neighbourly and a lovely place to live. However the cons of being basically remote from schools, shops, decent eateries and the drive into the city made us change our mides. Saying that, this is just us. While we lived there, we loved it but the time to get to anywhere was a painful. Since moving closer to the city we keep appreciating to the time we save and the options we have. I would rate the Greenwoods part as a great place to live and depending on your requirements an overly lovely place. Would recommend to anyone prepared to travel.
