As the great philosopher, Confucius said: "Wherever you go, there you are." That depends a lot on who you are and what you're looking for....and most importantly, what you bring to the equation. The Castro is a fabulous place for singles in many ways- there are plenty of singles who live here, there's lot's of things to do (movies, dinner, local shows, etc), and it's a transit hub, so you can be anywhere you want in moments....and it's a great place for couples, families, gays, straights, and everything in between...
Is Castro District a good place to live for singles?
Of course. Well, if you are a gay, single male, Castro is the place to live. It is, as many people have noted, the gay capital of the universe. The bars, the Castro theater, the idiosyncratic stores, the hip restaurants--what else could you ask for?
The only problem is that the high demand for pads here drive up demand making it one of the higher rent areas in the southern part of the Bay Area.
