In Cessnock, local opinion has historically suggested areas close to the centre of town such as 'Hospital Hill' or 'Convent Hill' have a number of 'good' streets (with established houses) to live in. Of course, as time passes and areas grow there can be a change to thinking as newer suburbs and areas are created providing new and modern community facilities.

In 2021, Cessnock is blessed by an increased element of great locales that may hold appeal. Everyone has a different checklist of features they might like to have in their ideal address.

Hospital Hill (set around Cessnock Hospital) has an array of established homes for the most part and a number of nice views can be embraced from the elevated position. Check the following street names: View, McGrane, Boomerang, Leonard, Love, Ann and Jurd.

Cessnock or Convent Hill (adjacent to Catholic church) also provide some established stately homes and good views. All within a few hundred metres of the CBD. A great new family friendly park is a feature. Check these street names: Cooper, Hall, Bridge, Cumberland, King, Regent, High, Harris, Mayfield.

Newer estates worth checking out include Vineyard Grove, Stonebridge Estate, The Vines all are located in Cessnock.

Suburbs such as Aberdare and Bellbird provide larger residential blocks (up to 1,000 sqm or so) with a mixed selection of older home design through to modern styles. A number of new housing estates have popped up around Bellbird, Kitchener and Nulkaba that could be worth a look.

A little further out of Cessnock(about 15 mins drive) villages such as Ellalong, Paxton and Millfield deliver a quieter living environment. Block sizes range from small to large and some nice views can be found too.

Cessnock and surrounds does provide a huge array of choice for living locations. Residential to rural is well catered for. Lifestyle options with a connection to Hunter Wine Region are all popular choices for many too.

The convenient location of Cessnock and it's relative affordability is highly appealing.

Clare st Cessnock which borders Bellbird Heights is a really nice street with new big homes on big blocks especially up the top - its becoming Hollywood Hills! The streets surrounding and leading up to Clare like Booth st are building really nice homes too. I suspect down the road they will link up Frances st into Bellbird and these blocks will be huge with nice homes. It's becoming an exclusive quiet pocket of Cessnock on the cusp of Bellbird Heights.
