I have been listed on TICA and cant rent. What should do?

I have been listed on tica more than 5 years ago when i was just 16, i paid the debt within 2 weeks, and now im having problems with renting the realestate said that they have not got any records from 3 years ago and earlier. Should i take legal action for defimation as they have no record of me being in the premises or the money i paid to recover my debt.

My thoughts would be to find all the information in relation to the debt and being paid and keep that to show you have paid. Get a letter from the company the debt was with saying it has been paid. For tax reasons any company has to keep records for seven years unless you signed something saying they can destroy information after 5 years. Ask the company the debt was with did they send information to the TICA saying debt was paid out. If the company has not then get them to send letter to TICA and follow it up yourself. Get a copy of letter the company sends to TICA and get something TICA saying on there database it shows paid out.

When that is done and TICA have the letter from company/TICA saying it is paid out you should be able to rent. When you got to rent you will need to always show letter from company/TICA. It is up to each letting agent if they will let you rent or not. Some letting agents will say no as they might think you could default again and some agents will give you 2nd chance if they have all the information.
Your name will stay on TICA databases.

You have to be kidding me. You are the reason you're on the list and now you want to blame someone for it? You should never be allowed off this list.
