parking at shopping centre

parking at shopping centre
Chermside, QLD 4032 is located within the Brisbane local government area, part of the Brisbane Region in Queensland.
I heard that there are plans to introduce paid parking at Westfield Chermside and people are protesting - see http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/articles/2008/12/18/1229189743111.html. What do you think about this?

Our local shopping center here in Melbourne (Westfield Doncaster Shoppingtown) got renovated and introduced paid parking. I was horrified! As it turns out however, you get the first three hours free, so it's not bad at all. If this is the case, I don't blame them for introducing paid parking, as long as it is fair.

Many shopping centers are introducing paid parking as a way to stop people from using them as daily work carparks (park, leave your car then travel on bus to work). As long as they have a few hours free (or discounted for purchases made) I am happy.

The 3 hours free if you shop there is very important - I hope the do that.
