Chippendale sounds great but "not great for Safe and Sound". Can anyone expand on that?

Maybe 20 years ago, when it was not developed. Same as Surry Hills where I lived back then.

Chippendale is very safe in my experience. I have never had a problem here. Lock your doors, keep valuables hidden, be self-aware at night, like any inner-city. Funnily I had problems with crime living in the North West suburbs, which are meant to be family-oriented and "safe".

Its wise to be conscious of personal safety and security in any inner Sydney suburb. Having said that, I've lived in Chippendale for 8 years and don't think Chippendale is any different to any inner suburb for safety.
