Good public school in Clayton, Oakleigh and surrounding suburbs?

HI I live in Pakenham. Me and my husband both work in city. Its a long travel thats why we want to move closer to city. However, all the suburbs near city are very expensive. So, we though Clayton is not too far and reasonable cost of living. We use public transport so would prefer to live not too far from station. We prefer also to live in this Eastern or South eastern line of Melbourne.
I was wondering if anyone give me suggestion as if Clayton is the best choice for a family in my situation?
What are the good public high schools in Clayton or in surrounding suburbs?
Is there a lot of problem with burglary? Which side of Clayton or Oakleigh is better to raise a family?
I have so many questions but will ask these for now.
Would appreciate some suggestions and advice. Thanks

"New Train Station is on the way that will renew the look of Clayton. Level crossing will be removed so no more traffic nightmares. So much food & Restaurant choices now, Italian, Greek, Korean, Chinese, Malaysian, Hongkong, .Indian, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, all kinds of Aussie fast food choices, you name it!!! Two large Coles and plenty of parking + one extra huge Asian supermarket."
