"Great area for locals or traveling"

Everything that you need day to day is at your fingertips but if you do need to travel to other areas of Melbourne the public transport is fantastic. You can get almost anywhere easily on public transport or walk or bike ride. Short walk to parks and the Yarra trail, plenty of fantastic small local business and places to eat, drink and be social. Could not choose a more convenient spot for a work/social/lifestyle balance.

"The best suburb!"

In all my adult years Collingwood has by far been my favourite place to live. You literally have every thing and every vibe on your doorstep. From grungy to sophisticated, bustling to quiet, food trucks to fine dining, it’s a melting pot for everything. What it also stands out for is a strong community spirit, something I’ve not seen in previous suburbs.

You’re in walking distance to many great places including Fitzroy Gardens, Carlton Gardens, the MCG, Yarra Bend Park, and even a farm at Collingwood Farm!! If you prefer to cycle, you’re close to the Melbourne Capital City trail with its stunning vistas and dedicated bike paths.

The suburb seems to have a stigma from it’s passed and there is a hangover from that but nothing more than you’d expect from any other inner city area. If you treat people with respect then you’re fine.

Would have loved to have had this as my forever suburb but sadly couldn’t afford to upsize to the space we needed.

"So fun, loved it"

I loved living here. I lived on smith street. The only thing was the noise and the tourists...which are to be expected (and accepted!) living in such an inner city locale. Was nice to be in the thick of it all.

"Great location and place to live!"

Collingwood is seeing a big influx of young professionals moving to the area, why you may ask?

Some of the citys best bars, shops and restaurants are within walking distance and is in easy proximity to the CBD and public transport and of course many great cafes for your morning or pick me up afternoon coffee.

If you have a dog the Yarra Bend Park is nearby as well as Smith Street which has everything you need from supermarkets, trendy boutique shops, bars, cafes, restaraunts etc and the 86 Tram straight to the CBD!

"A great place to live."

Collingwood has fast become a trendy inner-city suburb known for its cafes, restaurants, boutiques and a great place to hang out with family and friends.

Public transport is available for everyone in Collingwood and with its close proximity to the CBD you can also be a short walk away from the city.

Collingwood has other great amenities like hospitals, parks and sports grounds.

"Great inner city area with everything you need"

Collingwood is close to everything and has a wealth of its own highlights.
There are plenty of great little shops so you can get what you need. Although the city isn’t far, Lygon Street isn’t far and Brunswick street is right there making it ideally located.
If you want to get out for a meal or night out, you are in the heart of it here with many places in Collingwood and more within a short walk.
It's not a long walk to the city but there is also good public transport services making it even easier.
If you want greenery, Fitzroy gardens is close by making this one of the best inner city locations you could find.
Best for singles, couples and young professionals that want inner city living.

"Collingwood - a great community to live in"

We've only just moved out of Collingwood and miss it. We still do our shopping on Smith Street and go out for dinner [even if we have to drive and not drink as much].

We had to move as we couldn't afford the size house we needed with our 4 year old - additional bedroom, study and back-yard are not that easy and cheap in Collingwood now.

The community and people of Collingwood - particularly Smith Street - was fantastic with our son as he grew up. He became a regular talking to the crowds outside Safeway. We never felt threatened and always felt safe.

I loved living in Collingwood.
