I have heard it's a suburb that has some issues. Sad to here you have that problem, it's certainly not good for youngsters. I have a brother who did have that kind of thing going on in his neighbourhood, the matter was quickly resolved after he called on all the local property managers, they then approached the tenants... "all fixed".
Move and get your kids out quick, it doesnt matter if you are on a lease get on the RTA website and look it up, there are clauses you can rely on to break a lease legally.
Look ask your property manager to ask the owner if you can break your lease earlier....better ask in writing just to be safe....you know how they are.....but yeah tonyabbotsux.....is write contact RTA if your agent aint no help.
Despite what some may think or state... never, ever, walk out of a Tenancy Agreement. Please, if you do nothing else, talk to the RTA and agent for advice. If the property manager is inexperienced or appears disinterested, ask to meet with the Principal of the agency. Agents can and often do arrange alternative accommodation and, with the landlords consent, let you out of the agreement, especially if you have been a decent tenant.
People, please use common sense when thinking about the negative coments made here about the suburb as Crestead is a really good neighbourhood.
I have lived there for about 5 years and would say some areas such as eight mile plains where i have lived also are worse and thats a so called "classier" area.
People over there where yelling quite often, where as Crestmead on the other hand is generally quiet. Yes sometimes there are arguments but every suburb has them, on any given night most of Crestead is really quiet and people there are really friendly.
There are parks and its close to alot of shops and complexes such as Logan entertainment complex and the NEW sports complex in crestmead and the NEW park on browns plains road all close by.
Crestmead is still cheap and affordable in terms of house buying and renting. Lots of parks schools and daycare. Shops all around and servo stations close too. Close to Mount Tamborine which is beutiful... we go there regularly. Close to Slacks Creek Moss St for all you blokes out there wanting to move. Super Cheap and other shops there too
If my circumstances where different i would be staying in crestmead but we looking for bigger house as family is bigger. otherwise i would not move.
Crestmead is on the fringe of an exciting new initiative in the Park Ridge area. With a reported 52,000 new homes to be constructed, Crestmead is the set to become a much sort after residential area with well established infrastructure and services, Crestmead is prime real estate for buyers in today's market.
An extra 52,000 homes in one suburb? LOL In your dreams maybe, otherwise its impossible. And if you think a low socio economic satellite area like Creastmead is set to become "sort" (sic) after, then you beliefs are as laughable as your spelling. Sounds to me like you are talking up the area for your own reasons...selling up are you?
