"Grand homes on a busy and noisy street"
This area of Cross Road is quite a surprise. Unley Park is one of Adelaide's most prestigious and expensive suburbs, and this section of Cross Road has a number of stately homes on large properties that perfectly fit the bill.
However Cross Road is a major east-west thoroughfare, linking the Adelaide Hills with the western suburbs. It is always busy, with very heavy traffic at peak hour. Not exactly the most desirable atmosphere, even though the location is great.
Aside from the traffic, it is a wonderful area. 20 minutes from the CBD, 20 minutes from the beach, and just a short walk to charming Hyde Park - a lovely cafe and shopping strip.
