I expect local expertise and knowledge, combined with a professional attitude.

Thanks for your response AJ! I do agree that all Real Estate Agents should have those great qualities you have listed. In saying that - there are so many agents who don't apply those qualities and characteristics when working in the industry! However I believe that for a customer to have an enjoyable and satisfying experience the agent should have great communication - as in relaying back all information and keeping in contact with the client regularly. To me regularly is more than three times a week to touch base and keep up-to-date about what is happening around them and their property. I believe that communicating is a great way for the customer to know where they sit on the market and to be reassured that the agent is really putting in the extra hard-yards for their property, even when the market is slow for the week/fortnight/month. That's my aim as a professional.

Sorry no more then three times a week in contact with them*. I generally contact my clients twice a week to touch base, and purhaps more if need be.

Twice a week is more than enough in one week, but again it depends on what you are doing in the buy/sell real estate cycle.

Communication is very important, you are correct. I also think that a when selling a home, you have to be made to feel as though you are getting the best possible sale price. Not easy to convey, but I think the way a real estate professional conveys their attitude leading up the sale can really help, especially through their display of local and industry knowledge.

Yes definitely not easy to convey - but people deserve to know that they are being treated right and to be honest not being ripped off. It all depends on the agents attitude and to the technique of their selling. If an agent knows that they have to do so many sales per month at a certain price to make their quota - then the agent will push the sale even if the customer is not interested, and that agent will seem to find every excuse in the book to make the sale. However if the agent does not have a deadline, then their attitude and tables will be turned - as they will be able to focus more on what both the vendor and the client are after to pair it to the right sale.
