Is DePaul in Chicago a safe neighborhood?

Because of all the students I'd say it's pretty safe. With so many kids walking around with smart phones and their laptops in the area I think the police feel added pressure to make sure it's safe to walk around, regardless of the time of day.

DePaul is in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The area is very affluent and generally very safe. Sometimes neighborhoods like this are the target of a string of muggings or robberies, and students should be careful late at night in places with a lot of bars, but it's one of the safest places in the city.
