Theft is by far the highest crime reported, followed by burglaries and then assault. I believe the distinction between theft and burglary is theft is just stealing anything you can (opportunistic) whereas burglary is breaking into a place with the intent of stealing. I can only assume the high assault rate has a little something to do with drunken college kids... but I could be wrong. :)
