Not really, it is quiet, and not really dangerous, which is good, plus the cost of living is very reasonable, but East Side is also a ways from the heart of the city, where the action is, and isn't terribly exciting.

If you're looking for a pretty relaxed area, I'd say yes. But East Side isn't the ideal place for singles that want to be close to nightlife, etc.
