Reviews of Eatons Hill, QLD

"Close to the bush but also the city!"

A lovely leafy suburb with heaps of parkland and bike tracks. For kiddies and exercise enthusiasts. Well serviced by major supermarkets and schools, and short drive to Chermside, Brookside, and the charming Samford Village. Live music etc. at the Eatons Hill Hotel and the restaurant scene is improving all the time!

"Sweet spot!"

Is a sweet spot where relatively close to the CBD but still affordable. Feels like an upper class area. Great family friendly place to live for professionals with children.

"Great Properties Shame About The Renters"

Lovely suburb and you get a lot of house for the money. great options for private schools who all seem to have their own buses to and from. Good selection of supermarkets and Albany Creek has quality places to eat out or takeout. My only negative is the number of rentals, particularly Defence Housing Properties here and in Warner. These people have no regard for community spirit as they don't stay longer than two or three years, do what they like without consequences, let their feral kids reek havoc unsupervised, causing home owners to do a runner and rent theirs out until the DHA lease is up. One DHA tenant was trapping neighbours cats and DHA did nothing about it. So their tenant dictated how we owners had to live when there was never an issue until she moved in. Now a once quiet street looks like a war zone, strewn with banged up vehicles and out of control kids, loud music, tatty gardens. These things affect property values. Not good for professional people like doctors, nurses, lectures, teachers, managers, shift workers or anyone who uses their brains or tries to work from home, and is more a tradies or manual skills type environment. Do your research before you buy.

Great for

  • Fantastic local school
  • Proximity to city and amenities

Not great for

  • DHA Rentals

Nice review Karen
You judgey & insult on so many levels.

So uneducated. Many of defence members have professional spouses that are employed in those roles you listed, not to mention the roles members within the defence are employed to do. I bet you are one of those nosey people who spy on the neighbours through the curtains and keep tabs on everyone. You sound like a nightmare to live near. YIKES!

Yep, too much DHA scum in the area. Have three around my house. Always loud families with cars all over the yard and they don't give a crap about anyone . Lots of unskilled workers have been moving in lately. They move in with 4-5 friends in order to pay the rent , easy to spot them with all their cheap cars blocking up the road and footpaths

"Nice subsurb but a bit too far from the city"

We liked living at Eatons Hill but it was a little too far from town and besides Strathpine. Good value though.

"Nice area but not residents"

Very nice area. Nice parks and open spaces. Limited shopping but good eating out options. Very materialistic people who are more concerned about their social status and public profile than most other things. Limited public transport. Over inflated house prices mainly due to the previously mentioned people.

Rentals in Eatons Hill

"Beautiful area, with a definate bespoke upper class feel to it."

We moved here from the north lakes area of Brisbane. All I can say is the area beautiful, full of fantastic people. And alot of people going for morning walks around the beautiful parks. Travel time to the city is quite good, and a close aspect to samford makes it great for a weekend cafe visit. The eatons hill hotel seems to always have alot going on with some really well know international acts. Being right next to albany creek, you get all the amenities that anyone could need. We looked at various private schools for our children and we found eatons hill primary school the closest thing to a state school that is run like a private school. The teachers are fantastic and school itself is one of the best I have seen. It shows when you are collecting your child from school that there are plenty of high end cars with really respectable looking people picking up there children. Wantima golf course is a walk away for a weekend hit if needed. The area also has nice large blocks with one of a kind designed homes to give it that bespoke type feel.

  • Fantastic local school
  • Proximity to city and amenities

"Easy place to live with everything you could want within a couple of minutes of home."

A private and safe suburb with a leafy aspect plus parks for both families with children, dog parks, sport and walking tracks including a track to the creek containing turtles and other wildlife. Great access to grocery shopping and every possible food outlet and cafes with close access to medical, schools/childcare and entertainment at the Albany Creek Tavern. Value for money - affordable living in a prestige suburb not far from city but without the hussle and bustle and traffic.

"Great place to live - especially in the acreages behind the estates!"

The acreages at the back of Eatons Hill are a really great place to live - big blocks, very quiet, no major thoroughfare, and a great park at Sargent's Reserve. Also close to Eatons Hill State School - one of the best state schools in the area.
