I agree, Chautauqua Park's dining hall serves great year round meals, casual and fancy at the same time and summer brunch on the porch is legendary
Within walking distance of the Flagstaff neighborhood, you have a few choices depending on the time of the year. If you walk South, up the hill, you will come to Chautauqua Park and their dining hall, which is a beautiful historic building, is open from Spring through Fall. Alternately, you can walk North down 9th Street to Pearl Street and there are loads of fabulous restaurants, but that is a bit of a walk. Closer to Flagstaff is the Hill where you will find low cost restaurants catering to students, but still delicious such as Thai Avenue and Five Guys. A more upscale option on the Hill is Aioin, which is in a fun little historical building with a great bar and fireplace with excellent tapas. Loads of options in all directions. And you can always hike up Flagstaff Mountain to the Flagstaff restaurant for 5 star food, views and ambiance.
