Reviews of Forest Hill, QLD

"A great place to invest or live"

Forest Hill is a traditional farming community that for years has adopted students of the local agricultural college. Now that the College has grown to become a University and the Veterinary school has relocated from Brisbane, Forest Hill is a great place to invest without restricting the beauty of living for young families with a highly respected primary school.

It is hard to imagine that students and young families can co-exist, however it Forest Hill it has been working for years and there is no signs of change.

The town is becoming a haven for day trippers from Brisbane who frequent the fantastic variety of dining options and nick nack shops.

"A Small Country Town"

Forest Hill is a very small laid back kind of community. Children are always seen riding their bikes around, or playing in the parks, or just wandering the streets. There are a lot of families living in the area.
Because it is so close to Gatton University of QLD (An Agriculture uni), there are also quite a number of students that come and go, but they tend to be sensible. We've never had any problems with anyone.
There are two pubs in the town, and that is really the main focus of things. It can get quite loud and rowdy on the occasional weekend, which can be a nuisance, but it's not regular.
As far as community goes though, Forest Hill is a great place to be. Once you've lived there for a few months, you will be fairly well known. We knew all of our neighbours, and see them quite regularly. We can walk into the post office and the guy who runs the place knows us by name.
It is a country town, so there are a lot of animals around, but they tend to stay in people's yards. At night it's pretty quiet. The traffic is very low, you really only drive in or out of Forest Hill, there's no reason to drive through it.
There isn't a great deal of excitement happening in the town, with the exception of the once a year Christmas festivities, for which the main street gets blocked. But it's not that far to get to decent places in the area.

I agree with your comments. We have lived here 12 years. Down in the town it floods (2011 and 2013) and the town can get cut off in both directions for a few days. We live on the hill overlooking town which doesn't flood. Nice and quiet area and for the most part friendly people. Not much in the way of employment in the area unless you start your own business.
