Reviews of Forest Street, Monbulk
"Quiet, private, safe and green."
Growing up here from the age of 8 into my mid 20's was great. As a child we raced Billy karts down the gradual slope to from around number 7 Forest St to around Number 10. I can't answer for the number of children living on the street now but it was ideal in the late 80's and into the mid 2000's for me.
You can walk out of Forest Street and up the steep Moxhams Road to the main street. The street is private so the residents split the cost of re-gravelling it every now and the once the pot holes get too bad. Houses here often have tall over-hanging trees, some neighbours had issues with trees falling on their property, we weren't so unlucky with our place, until just before my parents moved out and one fell on the carport (luckily not the house).
This side of hill seems fairly safe against fires. Not that the amount of forest isn't a fire risk, just the way the slope faces is fairly good in case of a fire. There haven't been any big fires in Monbulk (that I know of).
